Opening Hours

- Open Daily : 09.00 - 17.00.

Highlight

- Very quiet temple in the outskirts of Pua, close to the city. There are some very beautiful viewpoints in the temple’s area.

- Surrounded by forest, the temple is situated on the hill, which gives the spectacular view if looking downward to the village, especially during the rainy season where all the rice fields are green. Behind the temple also lies a mountain. Thus, the location of the temple is what makes the temple outstanding.

Description

- Wat Phra That Beng Sakat is located at Ban Kam, Moo 5, Tambol Pua, Amphoe Pua, Nan province. The location of the temple is believed to be the area of the ancient town called Pua or Wora Nakorn.

- Wat Phra That Beng Sakat is constructed in the style of Thai Lue architecture. Presented in Lanna architecture style, the bell-shaped and squared-based pagoda with indented corners pagoda was constructed due to the order of Phaya Phu Kha before the construction of vihara.

- The distinctive features of the temple include its sloping and low roof, the base of the vihara carved in the image of lotuses, the small and narrow windows. In front of the vihara are a terrace and a staircase. The gate leading to the vihara is a large and tall one, carving in the mixture of the old and new style of art. Inside the vihara stand two rows of cement pillars.

- The Buddha relics are enshrined inside the pagoda, so the temple is considered as the heart of the faith in the community and the local Nan architecture.
